Where to begin??

Well, It's been a very loooooooooong time since i wrote a blog and as always i have a lot to catch up on but where to begin?
Last week was too hectic, hence, i didn't get a chance to write anything. Work, work and more work. Then the Holy weekend! Friday was spend entirely in Church re-living The Passion of the Christ. In our culture, we call Good Friday, Sad Friday, which essentially it is. It's the saddest day in Christianity, where our Lord Savior suffered and died for us. Sad Friday always gets me so emotional. After church, we came home and relaxed for a few. Then we went to our friend Ann's house in Yonkers where Her cousins and our cousins got together to watch Mel Gibson's, The Passion of Christ. It was my second time watching the movie and it still tears me up inside. It's one of the best movies ever made. So Powerful!!
The next day was spent also in Church. We had a special prayer in memory of all our deceased relatives. It was such a special service, we all brought candles to light for our deceased relatives. The candles are aligned in the shape of a Cross. I lit one each for my Appachan and Ammachi. It saddens me to think i never get to see them again and they never got a chance to meet Saj. I hope they are proud. After church, we came home and did some cleaning around the house. Then, we went to my parent's house for dinner and hang out with my lil bro. :)
Well Easter didn't start out so great for me. I was planning on wearing this Kashavu sari but i messed up twice and i had no patience for it that morning. Most importantly we wanted to get to church on time for the service. We have been slacking in getting to church on time on Sundays. So i put on my Salwar and Saj drove like a mad man, and we did get to church on time. It was a beautiful service. And the Kids program was very nice, They sang so well :) Although i was disappointed things didn't go as planned. All the girls wore their best sarees and i felt left out. Then again, Easter is not about appearances, i was able to take part in the whole service. That's all it matters. Finally, we were able to eat some MEAT!! YIPPIE :)
Then sunday night, i was off to work. It was my first night shift at the new place.. with a new preceptor. It was a quiet night for the most part, a good way to start. It's going to take me a while to get used to the change but i still love the short commute. I can see my husband in the morning before he goes to work. That counts for a lot:) I hate being on orientation though because you have to prove yourself to every new preceptor and need to learn all the new policies and paper work. But i'm adjusting for the most part.
Yesterday evening was my first night off and i went grocery shopping. I made a very spicy chicken curry.. My husband can vouch for that!! Can i say "Colitis"?. LOL!! I have to learn to add enough spices without burning up the stomach lining.. Practice makes Perfect.. Anyway, it tasted good. I was looking forward to spending some quality time with my hubby but just our luck, he had some major problem to fix at work so he didn't get home until late at night. I'm glad we got a chance to have dinner and some wine together. And we both slept like babies...
I slept late into the morning today because i had to work tonight. I got some errands done and took a small nap and off to work....
Now, i'm sitting here bored out of my mind, drinking a very concentrated Coffee. I added more scoops of coffee powder than needed but atleast i'm still awake. I'm glad i got a chace to catch up on my blogging. I'll try my best to write regularly. Well, let me get back to work now.
God Bless!!!

Catching up!

I haven't wrote a blog in a while and i have a lot to write. But i'll try to keep it short..
Where to start? let's see, well i'm done with the first week of orientation at my new job. It was a LONG week of listening to speeches, watching silly videos and learning new paper work. How exciting! UGH!! Some of their policies are so silly but anyway i like it for the most part. Everyone is so friendly which goes a long way. And the commute is so much better except the one time i was stuck on Rt 9A due to an accident and inclement weather. I was an hour late to work, not the way to make a good impression but there was nothing i could do. Oh well!

On Wednesday when i came home from work and shopping, i was informed by our friendly neighbor that we have a black out on our street. Nothing like coming home to find out there is no electricity. Thank God i picked up a Pizza along the way. Anyway, we only moved in a few months ago and we never thought about buying a flash light. So there i was walking around with a candle light. It's a little spooky going up the stairs with a candle. Darkness scares me so i was so happy when the power came back. Thank God we didn't have to wait too long!! The things one take for granted.
On Thursday evening, i found out that my Aunt's father passed away in India. He has been sick for a while. The worst thing is when we were in India a month ago, we didn't get a chance to visit him. The trip was too short to visit everyone. It was a total marathon with no rest. Still, i feel horrible that we didn't get a chance to see him and now he is gone. Because i felt so guilty and my aunt was leaving the next day for India, we drove to Upstate to visit my Aunt and attended the prayer meeting. By the time we came back, it was late and i had to get up early on Friday because it was my first day orienting on my Unit. I was able to make it on time. By the end of the day, i was so sleepy especially watching the boring video on i don't even remember what it was about, customer service or whatever... blah blah blah.....
Friday night, we went to see the movie, Bride and Prejudice at the Palisades mall. It's Aishwarya's first cross over to Hollywood film. Well, one piece of advice for her- Stick with Hindi movies. The movie sucked! It wasn't just her, the whole English musical with Indian theme just didn't go very well. To make it worse, it was snowing hard when we left at midnight. It was scary going through Bear Mountain while it was snowing at night. The only person i trust with driving under such condition is my hubby. He is such a cautious driver. One more reason i love him... We were so happy to be back home safe. Gotta love the adventures Saj!! :)
Anywho today was spend sleeping in late and doing laundry, and cleaning the house. What Fun!
The best part of the day was attending the prayer meeting in Yonkers. And i was able to fight the temptaion of eating beef curry and fried chicken.. I'm not breaking my Lent for nothing.. It was still so tempting. I'm proud of myself for resisting it.. A few more weeks. I can do it!!
OH one more thing before i wrap this up. We have a new addition to our family. Leo, our newest member. Saji's cousin Joby's first born baby boy. We haven't seen him yet. He was born March 11, 2005 at 6:15 pm. Welcome to the family Leo!! Can't wait to meet you :)
I told you i had a lot to write.. Okay time to go to bed now!
Love ya!!!!!!

A New Start...

My life changed dramatically since my wedding day (for the better). I feel so blessed to have found my soul-mate. I'll go more into this later on.. But let me start with how this weekend went and what happened today.
WEll, friday i woke up with cramps. Not a good way to start a day but by the end of the day, things got a lot better. We got our Elliptical machine. The package is still sitting in our room until Bigmalu is free to come help us put it together. Me and hubby went to my parents house and slept over. I attempted to watch Passion with my brother and saji but i fell asleep cuz i was too tired. I've seen the movie before and it's so powerful. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to see it especially during this Lent season.
On Saturday, we came home and i went and got my nails done. I found an Awesome nail polish, it's called Minemalistic. I love it!! :)
Anyway, then after lunch, our friend Mara came over and we went to our friend's bridal shower in Long Island. We had an awesome time.. Our talented bartender made us some strong Apple Martini. It was out of this world. One glass was enough to keep me "loud" for the rest of the night until we got home and i had the biggest headache. Yeah, it was still good times.... I have never gotten drunk because i'm not a heavy drinker for one but i've been told that i can get a little loud after one drink. WHat can i say, i have a weak system :)
After we got home, me and my hubby sat and watched Kuch Naa Kaho until 2 in the morning. It was such a beautiful movie. I love sappy love stories but this was exceptionally good.. ANother good movie to check out!
On Sunday, we went to church. THe mass was given by our Bishop so there were a lot of people there. He came to visit from India. And he was telling us about his experience with the Tsunami victims in Tamil Nadu.. It was such an emotional speech.. It defintely brought a tear to my eyes.
12/26/04 - Another day that will be forever engraved in our hearts.

Today was my first day of Orientation at my new job. It felt so odd being at a strange place and for me, being at work during normal working hours is rather odd, since i usually work Nights. I was awake through most of the lectures but by the end, i fell asleep. Hopefully, the speaker didn't notice that. But anyway, i'm looking forward to working somewhere closer to home. And Phelps seems like a good place to be right now.. A new beginning!
I've experienced so many changes in the last few months. I got married this past September and then we bought a house and now a new job... And i can honestly say that i've never been happier. I can Praise God for that! None of this would have been possible without your help. Karthavine Nanni..
